چکیده

Main Characteristics of Zika Virus Exanthema in Guadeloupe Zika virus (ZIKV) has recently started to spread in the Americas leading to successive outbreaks from Brazil to the French West Indies.1 The virus was declared a public health emergency by theWorldHealthOrganization because of its unpredictable associated morbidity (eg, fatal outcomes and severe neurologic complications).1 However, the clinical characteristics of this emerging arbovirosis are not completely known, and, toourknowledge,exanthema, themajorsymptomofZIKV infection, has not been fully described.

Severe thrombocytopenia during or after the course of Zika virus infection has been rarely reported. We report 7 cases of severe thrombocytopenia and hemorrhagic signs and symptoms in Guadeloupe after infection with this virus.
